What makes your program better than a book I could pick up at the library?

Our program walks you step-by-step through the development of your resume writing business. Extra time is spent on areas that are typically the most difficult for resume writers. It’s a complete package… including three business manuals and a bonus section on expanding your business. The package is designed to give you the complete training required to start, run and market your new business.

Will this program really show me how to earn money writing resumes?

Without a doubt, yes. AWAI’s "Pro Resume Writer Program" has been in existence for over five years, and there are thousands of satisfied customers from around the world who have used the training to earn income as professional resume writers.

What do I need to be a resume writer? Can anybody do it?

Yes... anybody can be a resume writer.

The background of AWAI members range from financial consultants, university professors, and copywriters... to acupuncturists, actresses, and photographers. By completing AWAI’s programs, people from all walks of life and all levels of education and experience have successfully launched new careers.

You don't need a degree in writing or a background in human resources to become a resume writer. And you don't need a fancy laptop or lots of money. You simply need a desire to succeed.

As with all new skills, you have to apply yourself. And you will build up your skill level as you continue to write. Professional athletes, musicians, dancers... they practice all the time. It's what allows them to master their crafts.

With resume writing it's no different. The more you write, the more efficient you will become. And this translates directly to dollars – you charge more, and produce content more quickly. As your earning potential goes up, you can either choose to work less, or make more money.

How much can I expect to make as a resume writer?

Professional resume writers, like most freelance professionals, get paid on a project basis. The more projects you take on, the more you earn. That said, most projects are billed on an hourly basis. The hourly rate that writers charge depend on a number of factors: cost of living in their market, competitive rates, and level of effort (for example, a recent college grad resume is less involved than a 30-year veteran doctor). Therefore, hourly rates vary widely, but $50 is not uncommon, nor is $100, and it continues to go up from there.

Is resume writing a full-time or part-time job?

That is up to you. Resume writers who have gone through the program range from full-time professionals to those who only work a few hours a week. You can start out slowly at first, and build to full-time status as you get yourself established. There is no hard and fast rule - you are the boss - so you can make that decision.

Can this business be started on a shoe string? What expenses will I have other than the cost of this program?

Start-up costs are very minimal – especially when compared to many other new lines of business like retail or manufacturing. You’ll need a computer with word processing software and a good printer with good paper, access to the internet and a phone. Marketing and advertising costs can be kept to a minimum as you start your business – there are lots of places where you can advertise for free.

Can I talk to somebody who has already completed the program?

Yes. Simply go to the Online Forum on our website to read what current program members think of the program.

Our Forum is an active message board where AWAI members share ideas, brainstorm, answer questions, and critique each other's writing. When you sign up for an AWAI program, you aren't left alone to wonder if you're doing things right... you can simply ask.

It's a way to connect with other budding writers who are as eager as you to enjoy the good life... and with people who are already having success and can share their own stories about what's worked for them...

Go ahead, ask them what they think of the program. We feel confident they'll have praise to share.
